: Jean Lefebvre was committed in the Army and had asked to return to the Spahis from morocco and has been sent to the camp of Satory, near Versailles, and then he was sent to a prison camp fifteen days after the Armistice. To get out of the camp he had been hired as a grower in Germany (which is something for which he had no experience), and then was chased from the farm. Jean Lefebvre has tried to move in the free zone, after having gained the line of demarcation in the process, a member of his group killed a German who was on patrol. He then fled and found refuge in the home of the parents of Simone (who would want to marry him some time later), it will in effect be driven out of the house after having an adventure with it. It is then left to Limoges with Simone, and has opened the first trolleybus. And then at the end of the war he returned home, and in his house of Valenciennes, where he spent some time working for his father, and then was at the Conservatory in Paris in 1948. With a second prize for comic opera at the Paris Conservatory, he had to make a career as an opera singer, but, spotted by René Simon, a famous professor of dramatic art, he began to play at the cabaret at the beginning of the 50s within the troupe Branquignols. After small appearances in films in the late 50's, Jean Lefebvre became one of the most famous actors of his generation in the 60's and 70's both on-screen and in the theatre, playing often in the character of the "franchouillard" nice and a little dazed, "to the sad gaze of a cocker spaniel" (qualified as such by Lino Ventura). Always in a registry burlesque, he followed, and supporting roles in comedies, making him an actor popular recognized. Among his appearances notable : his role of Paul Volfoni, mafia-like simpleton in The Crooks in clover, Charly, stable boy, giving pipes to Jean Gabin in The Gentleman of Epsom, of Goubi, village idiot in An idiot in Paris, by Armand, fellow unprincipled Bernard Blier in When they spend the pheasants, Léonard Michalon, small hits victimisée by Lino Ventura in Not we'll get angry not, of Fougasse in the series of the Gendarme of Saint-Tropez and Pitivier in the Seventh company. He will always be remembered for his comical self-derision, which he made the fabric of his career. The result of their collaboration in the Crooks in Clover, Jean Lefebvre, Bernard Blier are often found in comedies unpretentious where their association is reminiscent of the brothers Volfoni : When pass the pheasants in 1965, The slack in the trigger in 1966, It is not because we have nothing to say that he should close his mouth in 1974, or An idiot in Paris or the Madman of The lab IV. He worked with the great actors like Jean Gabin, Louis de Funès, Orson Welles, Lino Ventura, Bourvil, Paul Meurisse, Jean-Paul Belmondo or even Bernard Blier and Michel Serrault with whom he frequently collaborates, as well as with the greatest filmmakers : Georges Lautner, Philippe de Broca, Roger Vadim, Gilles Grangier, Jean Girault, Costa-Gavras, Yves Robert, Edouard Molinaro, Yves Allegret and Julien Duvivier. Big big-time gambler, his appetite for gambling oriented his career into a less glorious. In fact, the success of the leaks from the 80s ; he agrees to play in films to pay off his many gambling debts and not for the quality of their scenario. It declares thus : "I shot so many turnips that my career is like a garden. "He applied throughout his life-a philosophy-inspired hedonistic based on the enjoyment of the present moment and openness to the other. "Drink a blow to my health, youth." he said in conclusion. He had distinguished himself in the theater, playing the dual lead role in the play The Twins. Not hesitating to give of his person, he has made a delivery of a flawless realism in the room The Vineyard of the Lord. He died on 9 July 2004 in Marrakesh. Crématisé, his ashes were scattered over the Mont-Blanc.
